Whole Lotta Done
The past few months have found me overwhelmed with works-in-progress, which is a stressful circumstance for a usually-monogamous knitter like me. So many things to knit, so many projects that I want to work on…I’d get anxious just thinking about it. In the past week or so, I’ve managed to cull the herd a bit by finishing off some things that had been hanging over my head, much to my relief. I’ve already mentioned my sister-in-law’s gloves…
…which are finally wrapped up in a box and ready to be dropped off at the post office tomorrow. I also got the yarn to finish my friend Katie’s belated birthday socks…
…as modeled on my (slightly smaller) feet, which I delivered to the grateful recipient on Saturday. They’re soft, squishy, and cozy, and a little hard to give up, but I know they’ll be well-loved. I also cranked out a hat…
…for my dear friend Bryan. This is the Hat Fit for a Boyfriend by Stephanie Nicole – a nice, cozy ribbed hat with an aesthetically pleasing set of decreases on top. I originally knit a pair of these for my brother in law and my nephew, and Bryan liked them so much that he asked for one himself. Always delighted to spread the love of wool, I cranked this baby out in one and a half Sunday gaming sessions and presented it to him last night. I modified the decreases on Bryan’s hat to be a bit more symmetrical (k2tog on the right of the rib, ssk on the left, etc.) and, honestly, I can’t tell the difference. Ah, well…the symmetry pleases me.
Which means I’m down to…let’s see…four projects? Still far too many for my tastes, but better than seven, right? Today saw a bit of work on my friend Guin’s birthday socks…
…which aren’t due until April. Thank goodness.

The socks and gloves are so pretty Thanks for the pattern link. I am constantly making hats and this pattern will come in handy for the men of our house. Heck make it in a girlie color and it would be great for my Mom and Aunts. Hope you get the chance to bust out more projects so that you can feel more comfortable.

The great thing about having a lot of projects going at once is that when they finally start hitting the finish line, you look like a real dynamo. I, however, may have pushed this concept a little too far…
All your FO’s look gorgeous!
