…handknit socks.*

The feet of the man I love.

The Nuptial Socks (link to Ravelry project page)
Yarn: Hand-dyed by Chris of Stumbling Over Chaos
Pattern: an amalgam of the “Five-Stitch Pattern Sock” from Sensational Knitted Socks and the slip-stitch ribbing pattern from Sundara’s Bird of Paradise socks.
Needles: Knitpicks Harmony 2.25 mm dpns
Thoughts: This still isn’t the pattern I would have knit with this yarn, but my husband (hee!) likes them, so I’m happy. Despite my best efforts, I didn’t split the yarn evenly, so the black part of the leg came out three rows shorter on the second sock, but no one would notice but me. Overall, this is a thumbs up.

Toes!

* When my parents were courting, my father would cut the “Love is…” cartoon out of the paper every week and give it to my mother. She has a box full of them somewhere. All together now…”AWWWWW!”
