Knitters on a Rampage

DENVER – Reports have been coming in today of a group of knitters (reportedly called a “whack” of knitters) found rampaging through southern Denver.

Our investigative team has identified the knitters in question by their not-insignificant credit card trail. The whack allegedly consists of the following suspects: Ruth, of 5 Element Knitter; Leslie, of Nake-id Knits; Marly, of Yarn Thing, Rachel, who seems to be blogless, Wanda, of WandaWoman; and Imbrium, of nerd knits. Their ringleader is Laura, codename “La,” of JenLa.

The details are still sketchy, but rumors abound that the knitters hopped from yarn store to yarn store, laughing, talking, and generally creating a scene. There are reports of criminal levels of enabling and purchase justification, and at least one scuffle over some yarn that appears to have been on sale.

Mike, an employee of Beadniks, witnessed the insanity.

“They kept laughing and talking, saying something about ‘taking one for the team’…they made me take their picture like, four times, with this weird orange van with a license plate that said “2 HOT,” and they kept calling me ‘bead boy.’ It was really weird. There was yarn everywhere…I need to go lie down.*”

    Mike, aka Bead Boy, doesn’t look too much worse for having to deal with a whack of knitters. LOL!

    OMG, that was the highlight of my Denver trip! I was especially glad to have finally met you face to face! I should have had the third margarita tho.

    And I think that Knitted Peace and String both carried Rowan.

    I am so jealous! I’m an hour away from Denver and have never been to a yarn shop there (something to do with the fact that I am an hour away by car but only have a bike, which means about four hours from Denver…)
