Some questions you might be asking…

Imbrium, are you dead?

No, I’m not dead.

Do you hate us?

No! Not at all. I’ve been reading your blogs, even if I haven’t been commenting, and I think about you all the time.

Then why have you been absent for…what, two, three weeks now?

A multitude of reasons, not the least of which is that I’m sick as hell. Fever, chills, aches and pains, stuffy nose and sore throat and an unrelenting cough…when I’m not working, I’m sleeping and/or praying for death.

Now, it’s true that I haven’t been sick for three weeks – I came down with the plague only this week. There are other reasons too – mostly boring and pathetic reasons, so we’ll just skip them, mm-kay?

Don’t you have any good news?

Well, sure. I’m working to get set up to work from home, which could be one of the best things in the world for me, short of getting a different job entirely. Working from home would mean more sleep, better food, and most importantly…sunshine! Who ever thought this little goth girl would come to crave the sun like a drug, but there it is. I truly believe that spending all day, every weekday, locked in a room and never seeing sunshine is slowly killing me. The prospect of sitting here at my desk at home, with the huge lovely window just over my shoulder…it’s almost more than I can bear.

When’s the wedding?

Still don’t know. Illness has cancelled some of our plans to work on wedding logistics, and I’m still in financial negotiations with my father, so there’s not been much progress on the wedding front. I’ll keep you posted.

Do you still knit?

Of course I do, silly.

Are you finished with Donegal yet?

What, are you crazy?

Slow and steady.

I’m almost done with the body – that’s the neck steek there with the stitch holder. I’m still loving it, and despite appearances it feels like it’s going quickly to me. I am itching to cast on something else, because I have so many great projects both in my stash and in my head, but I’m resolved to being faithful to Donegal. The only thing I might cast on before finishing Donegal is a plain stockinette sock, so I have something simple and portable to work on during conference calls and other boring events that must be endured.

So, does this post mean you’ll be blogging regularly from now on?

I’ll give that a tentative “yes.” You all know that it comes and goes with health, depression, work, free time, and the phase of the moon. But yeah, I’ll try. I’ve got blog posts in my head for at least a few days, so we’ll see how it goes. Thank you, as always, for your unending patience and support.

Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather — but yes, the thought of working with some natural light will be sure to cheer you up. I’m in awe of your Donegal.

Heh, I was peeking in periodically, just to make sure bloglines wasn’t ignoring you or something!

Sorry to hear about the plague – hopefully it passes quicky. Mine mostly did, other than the nighttime coughing.

I can’t believe how fast you’re knitting Donegal!

Welcome back! You were missed but at least Donegal didn’t suffer, it’s stunning!

Glad to hear that you’re still (mostly) among the land of the living. I’m feeling about as great lately.. so I understand completely. Welcome ‘back’!

Hi there! Gald you’re back, sorry you’re sick. Some Germans swear by hot onion juice sweetened with honey for coughs, but I think the active ingredient is probably the threat of having to imbibe something like that. More sunshine sounds like a much better deal, hope it works out!

Great to hear from you. Thanks for the update.

I invested in a new sun lamp this month to help with the no-sun blahs. It’s definitely made a difference!

And I am not one to complain about infrequent posts because I am the most infrequent poster of them all but… it’s nice to hear from you! Donegal is still lovely!

Oh, thank goodness you’re back, though the sickness sounds heinous…

Missed you enormously. I ain’t bloggin’ either for stupid, self-inflicted reasons, but having you publicly around makes me want to shed the shit and get back in there again.

Donegal, she is lovely. And I love the notion of not casting on, really, unless, you know, absolutely necessary…. :-)

Glad you’re not dead, although I too wish for it when I’m sick like that.

    Donegal is stunning.

    Don’t forget to breathe.

I hope you feel better soon.
    Donegal looks fantastic!
I know what you mean about the light, I’m finally at a job where I get natural light right next to a window, and they’ll have to pry this office from my cold dead hands to get me to leave.
